Merchant Category Codes
Merchant Category Codes (MCC) are 4 digit numbers used by the payments industry to classify businesses by market segment.
At WePay, we use a similar code to help us better understand your business. Below is the list of MCCs that we use to classify your merchants’ accounts. See the USDA website if a code relevant to your business is not listed here. You can use these codes as the mcc parameter in the /account/create call.
Codes
The MCCs listed here are available across all supported currencies and merchant locations. With the most recent update in July 2021, no MCCs that were previously available have been removed; this update is purely additive, making more MCCs available for use.
Note
MCCs preceded by an asterisk symbol (*) require a primary_url when making the
/account/kyc/create call, regardless if primary_url is listed as optional in the KYC
structure.
